Lucin is a small, unincorporated community located in Box Elder County, northwestern Utah, USA. It was originally established in the late 19th century as a water stop for the Central Pacific Railroad and later moved slightly to accommodate the construction of the Lucin Cutoff, a significant railroad trestle across the Great Salt Lake, completed in 1904. The town was eventually abandoned in the mid-20th century but has gained attention in recent years for being the site of “The Sun Tunnels,” a famous land art installation by artist Nancy Holt.
